I believe we are neurobiological wired to have intimate and close connections. I believe when we are hurting, abusing substance, self-destructing in different ways it may be based in feeling disconnected from the most important people in our lives. There are certain mental health conditions that work against maximizing the value and investment in meaningful relationships. I work with individuals that are suffering. We add to your strengths and add new tools.
I also help families strategize and plan towards reaching and reengaging their loved one back into their own lives and their family life. There is help and there is hope. The insanity of doing the same thing expecting different results can lead to feelings of despair, hopelessness and helplessness. Nothing hurts more than watching a loved one self-destruct. Using the power of love, clear and heartfelt communication and compassion, we may be able to reach the person you are missing. We strive to be responsible to them instead of for them. We strive to “love” the person back to health using compassion and accountability.
I firmly believe we act and react based on feelings and the intellect is secondary. Sometimes we need help identifying the feeling and where is stems from. We are who we are today because of what we have experienced. Some live believing they are what happened to them. We are not what happened to us.
