I take pride in protecting the privacy and confidentiality of those I serve. The law protects the relationship between a client and psychotherapist and information will not be disclosed without the express, written consent of the patient – noting the following exceptions.
⦁ Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, where the law requires immediate reporting to the appropriate authorities.
⦁ When a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s the police and intended victim must be notified.
⦁ When a client intends to harm her|himself AND I am unable to enlist their voluntary cooperation, further measures may be taken without permission, provided to me by law, and intended to secure her|his safety.
